Earlier this week, a group of Werribee teenagers attacked a 17 year old girl along side the Werribee river away from prying eyes and passers by. The demeaning attack on the girl was video taped and later copied to DVD for distribution to schoolmates which has horrified local residents.
I myself am a Werribee resident and to hear of something this vicious and torturous happening to a local is absolutely appalling and the full force of the law should be applied to these reckless youths before anything like this happens again.
It has come to my attention that this group of teens have profiles on the popular social networking site myspace. Here is a list below of their profiles:
Just reading through some of the comments left on these pages is absolutely sickening. How can a group of people this young commit such violent crimes with no respect or remorse.
I hope they get what’s coming to them. The full force of the law should be dealt to them swiftly to remove these idiots from society.

I can’t be bothered emailing anyone. The names of those involved come from the credits of another video they made (a perfectly fine, legal comedy show) and posted on YouTube. There were a few others whose names are known that also had MySpace accounts but they recently deleted them. The DVD which featured the assault (”Cunt The Movie”
also had a MySpace but it was deleted yesterday (www.myspace.com/cunt_the_movie). When I saw that MySpace, it just had about 30 comments from people talking about how funny/good it is and whether they can be in the sequel. There was no blog. There were some videos on the page but they were just of them riding dirtbikes (that’s the sort of thing the rest of the DVD is said to have consisted of).

Watching the different reports on the TV I noticed a switch from “disabled” to “Learning Difficulties” to “a girl”. So I would assume the word “disabled” was thrown out there for impact at the start and has now been removed (even though the original report is all over the internet).

I think it is obvious who was on the DVD but you do not know the circumstances that led to them being there. You do not know who really arranged what. You have only heard what the girl told her father and he in turn the media. Then you only heard what the media broadcast. Plus the only way to defend the boys is to condemn the girl. That is your style not mine. Tell me, do you actually know the girl, because what makes you believe she is so innocent? Why can’t she also be involved and just scared to admit the truth? As for this generation, I consider myself fairly aware (but am learning all the time), my kids go to parties and I see things when I pick them up. (Of the last 24 rape cases in the Warnambool Court not one conviction was given).
The onus is always on the prosecution and victim to prove (as it should be) Unfortunatly in this case the victim appears to be either socially or intellectually challenged and under immense pressure and coercion from boys involved complied with their demands. Remember she did originally try to get away but the boys kept circling her. She gave in rather than ran. Poor girl, I doubt justice will be done in this case.

You probaly don’t know too much about LDs….yes, there are mild ones, but there are also ones that can significently affect people. Like, you know how kids with cerebal palsy might have a normal IQ, but still be young for their age? A lot of LD kids can be really young for their age in the same way.

Fact; the girl involved was compliant and submissive because so mant boys surrounded her and intimidated her upon her arrival at the Train Station. She was supposed to meet a couple of boys she knew, but 13 showed up and corraled her to the banks of the river. At no time did she expect any of what did happen to occur. She was compliant because she was scared shitless and because the boys requests and intimidation happened so quickly and relentlessly (Its on the DVD for christs sake- both the released version and the longer unedited footage in the hands of the police). All will come outin the many court cases as so much evidence has not been revealed yet, including the before and after intimidation and trickery. The sto;en I pod, the transfer (extortion) of money by two boys in particular via mobile phone dockets, the disgusting and degrading messages left on her phone and it goes on.

VICTORIA Police expect to lay any charges within the next two weeks over a DVD that documented the sexual assault of a 17-year-old girl.
Detective Sergeant Jason Walsh of the Sexual Crimes Unit said the police were nearly finished their investigation and would soon hand over to the office of public prosecutions. Police will determine whether any charges are to be laid.
Police have spent the past two months interviewing the 12 teenage boys involved in the DVD, and reviewing evidence on confiscated computers and mobile phones.
The DVD, which was sold around schools in the West, showed the boys waiting for the girl at the Werribee Railway Station before taking her to the river bank and sexually assaulting and humiliating her.
It also showed the young men, all aged 16 or 17 at the time of the incidents, throwing eggs at local taxi drivers, harassing a homeless man, and hoon driving. Charges could include rape, indecent and sexual assault, behavioural offences, and child pornography.
