tt_gfx_school_kids_dvd_000001_wideweb__470×3240.jpg

The 17 year old girl who was physically and sexually assaulted by a group of Werribee teenagers last week has spoken out to local police giving a statement.

A police spokeswoman has confirmed that the girl did in fact attend a Werribee police station regarding the incident where she gave a statement to police regarding information on the suspects and any other details which may aid in a criminal investigation.

The girl was urinated on by many of the youths, tortured and even had her hair set on fire with cigarette lighters and deodorant cans to extend the reach of the flame.

The DVD which has been distributed throughout various secondary colleges in the area such as Werribee Secondary College and Kardinia International College which has been sold for $5 apparently has been handed into police, but police have not yet seen the recording.

“I confirmed that myself when I spoke to detectives today, Werribee police were not informed until yesterday morning and that was the first we had heard about it,” the spokesman said. - source: The Age - DVD Victim speaks to police

The father of the assault victim has urged all who have obtained a copy of the DVD to please destroy it to fight for his daughters right for justice in this heinous crime.

Werribee gang assault DVD news coverage

With the article I wrote yesterday ‘Myspace pages of Werribee scumbag gang members’, I received huge interest in the story with people wanting to know more about the horrific acts committed against a 17yr old girl by a group known locally only as ‘The Werribee Boys’ since the story aired on various television networks across the country Tuesday night (24-10-06).

For anybody living internationally or for those who missed the news story which aired on Channel 7’s Today Tonight current affairs program, you can watch the full coverage here:

Thanks to MyCrimeSpace for the link to the clip and their support of my blog’s continuing coverage on the assault in Werribee.

North Korea will pay a very, very high price

I’m Adam, a new writer on The Whole Story and this is my very first post. You can find more about me at our About section of the blog.

In Follow up to Justin’s Post ‘North Korea’s nuclear weapons testing’ I was reading an article on Voice of America (VOA) News homepage and stumbled across a heading ‘US Envoy Says North Korea Must Pay For ‘Reckless Behavior’ and I couldn’t believe my eyes. I am currently in the process of joining the Australian Army and the last thing that I want is countries, mainly the Western ‘annoying’ possibly one of the most deadliest countries in the world, North Korea.

A senior US envoy arrived in South Korea to discuss a ‘punishment’ for Pyongyang’s nuclear weapons testing. The fears of a second nuclear test have encouraged the United Nations to strengthen there measures and called for inspections of all North Korean Cargo ships for any banned weapon parts.

How ever it then follows to say that China and South Korea and reluctant to interfere with North Korea in fear of igniting a conflict. So, is this a worry for the world when the two border countries of North Korea are hinting that they are not going to take part in the UN’s plans which involve North Korea’s neighbors?

Do we feel any safer?

North Korea’s nuclear weapons testing

asiapolitics.jpgOctober 9th - 2006: North Korea have successfully conducted the country’s first nuclear weapons test in an underground vertical (abandoned mine or something) space with reports of no radioactive leakage of any kind from the blast zone as of this time.

Measuring 4.2 on the richter scale,  the blast was reported to have had a blast yield equivalent to 550 tons of TNT explosive.

“The test also follows a United Nations Security Council presidential statement from October 6, 2006 warning North Korea against conducting a nuclear test and “that a nuclear test, if carried out by the DPRK, would represent a clear threat to international peace and security”.  - source: globalsecurity.org

I watch the news, read the papers and am online every day and have read, seen and heard so much criticism leading up to the test by various countries including Australia, the United States, England ruling that such a test is non-beneficial for humanity. Even living in the age of terrorism, the use of nuclear weapons has become almost outlawed across the entire globe with the majority of countries entering into nuclear non-proliferation treaties and such.

I have no idea what kind of impact the latest nuclear test in Korea will affect the world, but heads of power are absolutely outraged at the North Korean leader with calls for the UN to intervene. Nuclear weapons technology is very dangerous and must be taken seriously, the actions of one country will affect the entire world which must be understood. We cannot afford to have ‘rouge’ states developing weapons without any control on them whatsoever (it seems anyway).

The Korean Prime Minister has been labelled a ‘Cowboy’ and ‘reckless’ in various print articles I’ve read over the last day or so and the general feeling of the international community would be fairly similar I would imagine.

Jennifer Hawkins newest face of covergirl

Since her crowning of Miss Universe in 2004 , Jennifer Hawkins’ fame has skyrocketed. She is a television presenter on The Great Outdoors for channel 7 (Australia) these days which takes her all over the world and also the face of lovable Lingerie Australia, this ‘lovable’ beauty from oz now has something new to add to her resume…the new face of Covergirl cosmetics.

jennifer_hawkins.jpgThe 22 year old’s life totally changed from an aussie cheerleader to an aussie icon in such a short time, and people seem to just love her. She has such an interesting (and beautiful) quality about her which is really taking her places, and her latest job as the newest cover girl is definately testimate to her growing power and celebrity.

She has grown to be not only an Australian figure, but a well known international personality, appearing in many fashion shows and television specials & interviews. This year has definately been one of Jennifer’s biggest years since her triumphant miss universe win. We have seen her picture plastered over television, magazines, advertisements, train stations, sides of busses and god knows where else.

She recently appeared on the Seven Network’s Dancing with the Stars which helped make her more of a household name (if she wasn’t already). People just can’t seem to get enough of her these days, and why not. She ‘appears’ to be a very bright and talented woman, not to mention her amazing looks.

Covergirl Australia are planning to use Jennifer in their latest marketing campaign throughout the country over the next few months, but it has been said that the deal could see her photos appearing in overseas covergirl commercials also. Covergirl I’m sure have sealed their success in concrete with getting Jennifer on board, and before long, we’ll all be seeing much more of her once again…but who’s complaining?
